What we believe

To help you know more about what we believe, we’ve summarised these key elements of our statement of faith

We’re a church family with people from a wide spectrum of church backgrounds and history. What binds us together is our faith in God through Jesus Christ; and our love for Him. Having experienced His great love for us we very much want to share it with others.

Here’s some key things we believe:

God

We believe in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who created all things by His almighty power and is in control of all things.

People

We believe that all people were created by God in His own image, to love, honour and worship Him forever.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the true, inspired word of God. Entirely reliable, it is the final authority in matters of faith and how we live our lives.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Born of a virgin into this world He was both truly divine and truly human yet without sin.

Saving Work of Christ

We believe in the once and for all sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross, paying the price for our sin so that we can be reconciled to God through faith in Him. He defeated death by rising physically from the dead and is alive today, reigning in heaven as Lord of all.

Second Coming

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return in person when He will judge all people, bringing eternal life to those who have put their faith in Him and eternal condemnation to those who have rejected Him.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

Church

We believe the Church, the worldwide community of all believers, to be the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the head.  Its purpose is to glorify God in Christ and to make Him known to a lost world.
