In the first week of January this year I saw Easter eggs being sold! We had just contemplated advent, celebrating Jesus coming to earth and then we moved straight on to Easter! I know supermarkets don’t get the theological implications of this and want to sell chocolate, but it is good to have different seasons of the year to reflect.
We can commercialise Christmas and forget Jesus and we might be in danger of doing the same with Easter.
This Easter we want to focus on Jesus. We will be doing this by looking at sections of John’s gospel.
Jesus is…
Jesus is our saviour – John 3:1-21
Jesus is praying for us – John 17:20-26
Jesus is our healer – John 5:1-15
Jesus is King – John 12:12-19
Jesus is alive – John 20:11-18
I pray we may encounter Jesus as we lift up His name and contemplate His love for us.
