The book of Proverbs in the Bible points us to wisdom. This wisdom wants us to slow down, to pause and to mediate on the truth of God’s word. This wisdom is relational because ultimately wisdom is found in Jesus who love us.
As we explore the book of Proverbs, we will be thinking about why wisdom matters. How we grow and how that helps us to love God and each other.
Proverbs will help us navigate the bitter and sweet moments in life.
Proverbs has so much to teach us about:
- Work
- Sex
- Relationships
- Communication
- Choices
- Money
- Family and friends
- Life and death
Our hope is that we will see Jesus in the Proverbs. That we will be able to apply the Gospel to all that we are, and all that we do in daily life.
“A proverb is like hard candy: If you just bite down on it, you get little out of it and may even get a broken tooth. Instead you must meditate on it until the sweetness of insight comes.”
Tim Keller
May we take time to mediate on the Proverbs and enjoy the sweetness that comes from them as we study them together.
Every blessing
